Hardwood and building products export seminar set for Sept. 20

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Connecting West Virginia forest products businesses to global markets is the theme of the Hardwood and Building Products Export Seminar scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, in Elkins. The West Virginia Division of Forestry and the West Virginia Development Office, along with U.S. Commercial Service West Virginia and the Hardwood Alliance Zone, are sponsoring this one-day seminar free of charge for any company that currently exports hardwood or building products or is interested in learning to do so.

The seminar, which runs from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., will feature sessions on “Doing Business in Israel,” “Hardwood States Export Group Trade Events,” “Getting Paid, Export Financing,” “Shipping and Logistics” and “Export Assistance in West Virginia.”

The registration deadline is Friday, Sept. 16, 2011. The event is free of charge and lunch will be provided by the Hardwood Alliance Zone. The seminar will take place at the West Virginia Wood Technology Center at 10 Eleventh Street in Elkins.
